Over the course of December, I (Daria here) asked you to send me the names of the best books you read this year. Thanks to all of you who responded - we have some avid readers in our group!
I have loved checking out all your suggestions and found some books I can't wait to read myself. I've also narrowed the list down to the Top Ten picks for 2007. So, without further ado, here it is:
Water for Elephants, by Sara Gruen
- Many of you recommended this one ... it's the next book on my nightstand
A Thousand Splendid Suns, by Khaled Hosseini
- I read this one in September and loved it. It's as wonderful as The Kite Runner
The Madness of Mary Lincoln, by Jason Emerson
- I adore anything historical - this one went right on my Christmas list!
The Dive From Clausen's Pier, by Ann Packer
- Another one I look forward to checking out!
Night Fall, by Nelson DeMille
- I read everything DeMille writes as soon as it comes out! My all-time favorite of his, however, is still The Charm School.
