How to Buy a Used Luxury Car
If you always wanted to own a high-priced luxury vehicle and you're willing to buy it used, now may be the perfect time to do it.
Older luxury vehicles are competing with newer non-luxury cars with fancier features for car buyer dollars.
Besides comparing prices and resale values on the car at www.edmunds.com or Kelley Blue Book, shop for cars less popular in your area.
For example, on the East Coast domestic models are less popular, but in the Midwest, Asian and European models are in less demand.
People in the industry say that the prices of Saabs and Jaguars are falling much faster than those of German luxury cars.
If you find what you like, offer 10% to 20% less than the asking price. Most sellers tend to settle at 5% to 10% below what was asked.
Just keep in mind that luxury cars are probably going to use more gas than a small, fuel-efficient car, and gas prices aren't going down anytime soon.

Child Savings AccountsWhen opening a savings account for your child, make sure their Social Security number is used as the account's tax identification number. That way, as long as your child is under age 14, interest earned will be taxed at your child's lower tax rate, not at your tax rate. This rule holds true as long as your child earns less than $1,300 a year in interest. |
