Remember the popular TV game show a few years ago called Who Wants to be a Millionaire? It was hosted by Regis Philbin (who is a good guy, by the way…we’ve been on his and Kelly Ripa’s TV show several times), and it was the most popular show on television for a while. The answer to that question, of course, is that everybody wants to be a millionaire! Here’s the good news: More people than ever are hitting that financial milestone. According to a new report, there are more than 10 million millionaires in the world, with 33% of those in the United States. So how can you join the club? One thing is certain: You have to make sure your money is working for you—earning you even more money! That’s not easy to do in a tough stock market like we’re in now. June was the worst month for stocks since the Great Depression! That makes it more important than ever that you follow our 10 Simple Rules of Investing. Read our rules here to get and stay on the path to making your dreams come true. If you or someone you know has student loans to pay, there is a new change that just took effect that could save you hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars with lower interest rates. We alerted our Straight Talk members to this coming change a while ago, and we’ve encouraged them to act as well. This is such a terrific opportunity that we wanted to make sure everyone knew about it and had a chance to take advantage.
As you’re enjoying the recreational activities of summer, are you also pulling out the ol' debit card to pay for that round of miniature golf? You are, if you’re like most people. America loves its debit cards. Their use grew by more than 14% in 2007, and there are now more transactions by debit card than credit card. Be careful. Be very careful. Identity theft is the fastest-growing crime in America, so you must be cautious with your information—especially when it comes to debit cards. A lot of folks are sitting ducks for would-be criminals. Make sure that’s not you. Watch out for these dangers of debit cards and find out what scares us the most. They just may not be worth the risk. Sincerely,
